Working with Magento

My wife wanted to start a website where she could sell handcrafted goods as well as curated collections. When we originally started talking about the idea, I had never done an eCommerce site before but figured with my knowledge of Drupal and Wordpress, using either platform could not be too hard. There a re plenty of modules and plugins for either platform that get you up and running in a snap. Like any idea though, I didn't want to dive head first without doing some research first, to make sure I picked the right platform.A co-worker of mine was in the process of building a much more complicated eCommerce site than what I needed but i figured he would be a good resource to get an opinion from.
